Last week, I had the privilege of attending Informatica World 2025 in Las Vegas, a landmark edition of the event that marked not just another year, but a significant milestone: the 25th anniversary of Informatica World.

As Amit Walia, CEO of Informatica, highlighted in his keynote, 2025 is more than just a calendar year; it’s a turning point.

Personally, I think it also marks 25 years in the world of data and AI. A journey that began with mastering the extract, data, load (ETL) process and data warehousing is now transformed by cloud, generative AI, and automation.

The event offered a powerful reminder of Informatica’s staying power in a volatile market. According to Yahoo Finance¹, 52% of Fortune 500 companies have disappeared over the past two decades.

Back in 2000, Informatica dominated the early ETL and data warehousing landscape. While hundreds of platforms have come and gone since then, Informatica has endured. Why? A relentless focus on client-centric innovation, ecosystem partnerships, and long-term relevance.

  Probabilistic matching has always required manual tuning, especially during events like mergers. This new AI model recommends match rules based on context, simplifying what was once an expert-only task.

• Strategic agreement with Microsoft ²: IDMC + Fabric = Full-stack AI
  The announcement made during Informatica World is poised to combine Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud™ platform with key Microsoft services, including Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Azure. This move is significant; while Azure has advantages in storage and computing, the critical data management tasks can be performed by IDMC.

• NVIDIA Partnership: Enabling AI Agents at Enterprise Scale ³
  By integrating with NVIDIA AI Enterprise, Informatica is powering next-gen AI agents, opening up pathways for enterprise-grade AI pipelines, more intelligent automation, and accelerated time-to-insight.
